Dancing in teams, couples and solo, Diamond dancers hold some of the top national titles in the dance world.

TRAINING CHAMPIONS AND BEING THE BEST YOU CAN BE

The League

The League for dancers has been running in the UK for over 35 years and is open to registered Latin American and Ballroom dancers of all ages from schools across the country

.

Dance studios enter teams of four couples to compete in age-groups with regional heats that run throughout the year building up to a ‘Nationwide Finals’ competition in December, often held in Blackpool – the home of Ballroom dancing!

Diamond’s encourages students to take part in this fun and inclusive competition as it enables dancers to hone their skills as well as building confidence and school spirit.

Diamond’s has been the proud winner of the Supadance League Memorial Cup for over 25 years.

IDTA Nationwide Medallist of the Year

The International Dance Teacher’s Association (IDTA) is a leading dance qualification awarding body and membership association for professional dancers, and one of the largest and most recognised dance organisations in the world.

One of the most prestigious events in the IDTA calendar is the Medallist of the Year Championships, held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

Every year over a hundred Diamond dancers qualify in the Southeast heats to compete at the ‘Finals’.

“We are proud of every pupil representing our school, whether they make the winners podium (which many do) or not. Seeing dancers of all ages that we have trained step onto the floor with confidence and reach their goals is the reason that we do what we do.” Jacqui Donaldson, Principal

Interschool Competitions & Workshops

We regularly host inter-school events for our dancers so that they can hone their competition skills with their friends and fellow teammates.

Fun filled and energetic, these occasions are a highlight of the school’s year and give us the opportunity to award pupils for their personal growth in dance.
